I am Askar Poonthala, Founder-CEO of Buildo.Market TechnologiesPvt Ltd. I have 15 years' experience in different industries including forex, construction materials, trading, real estate, logistics, and startups. I am the Co-founder of “Errando”, the first hyper-local delivery company in Kerala, started in 2015.

 

 

About Buildo.Market and Its Services

 

The idea behind Buildo.Market is to provide a one-stop solution for construction-related materials and services in India. Driven by changing customer purchasing behavior during the pandemic, previously people hesitated to select materials without physically touching and feeling them. However, with the introduction of virtual reality, websites, WhatsApp, and catalogs, customers now seek a convenient place to choose products and services. Buildo provides go-to-market opportunities to small and medium brands across India and abroad by opening experience centers in different parts of the globe.

 

On one side, it helps to organize the highly unorganized construction industry by bringing manufacturers and vendors together. Buildo's efforts in educating stakeholders and collaborators have facilitated quicker deal closures. With a wide range of construction, interior, and exterior products and services, Buildo offers a diverse portfolio without geographical restrictions. We cater to various locations, from supplying Teakwood furniture from Nilambur to Bangalore, custom-made mattresses from Kerala to Vizag, Turkey imported Roofing clay tiles to Kerala, Imported Textures from Italy, Installation of Solar panels and water heaters, Malaysian wooden laminates to Wayanad, Custom-made steel water tank from Kerala to Chennai, Hand made tiles from Delhi to Bangalore.

 

 

Building a Roadmap: Long-Term Planning for Business Success

 

As an early-stage startup, Buildo has achieved remarkable traction in the first 4 quarters since its launch in September 2022. Comparing with the first six months, gross profit had crossed a groundbreaking 14.8% in FY2023-24. We have served customers in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Hyderabad, and Goa. Buildo opened the first experience center in Bangalore to target Tier 1 cities. Over the next two years, we plan to set up 25 centers in PAN India and the Middle East. Buildo is going to start global expansion in Saudi Arabia by the middle of this year and plans to be a part of Vision2030 and NEOM projects in KSA.

As a founder, I am an MBA graduate specialized in marketing and finance. I was working part-time jobs when I was pursuing my graduation and post-graduation. I worked in Big Bazaar in 2007 as a product promoter of GSK. I was running a forex and commodity trading and broking company when pursuing my MBA. I did exports of antique cars and am a passionate car enthusiast and trader of used vehicles in my college days.

I have more than 5 years of experience in Forex. I was managing clients and trading in international markets, watching economic calendars, fundamentals and technicals of markets, flow charts, hedging the market, maintaining stop-loss, and booking the profit and loss of my clients.

Through my entrepreneurial journey, I am balancing my family. My wife is a director in my company, and I have three kids: two daughters and one son. Family is a great support for building my future with my ideas and effort.
