am Dr. A. Devendran, an academic leader and management IT professional with
over 20 years of experience in management studies. I am currently a professor
at Woxsen University, where I specialize in systems (business analytics) and general
management. Numerous academic achievements, extensive publications, and a
commitment to fostering academic excellence mark my professional journey.
Educational
and Professional Journey
My
educational background includes a Ph.D. in Computer Science from St. Peter’s
University, an MBA in Management Studies from Periyar University, an M.Phil. in
Computer Science from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, and both a Master’s
and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Madras University. I began my
career as a corporate trainer at Globaal Solutions, Bangalore, and later held
lecturer positions at Jaya College of Arts and Science and corporate trainer
roles at PPlTech, Bangalore, before joining Dr. MGR Educational and Research
Institute in Chennai, where I progressed to the role of professor.

development, interdisciplinary collaboration, mentoring and research,
leadership and team management, and academic leadership. I am proficient in
technical skills such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and the MS Office

for a career in Business Analytics
My inspiration to pursue a career in business analytics stemmed from a
deep-seated interest in understanding and leveraging data to drive strategic
decisions in business. The evolving landscape of technology and its impact on
business processes fascinated me, leading me to specialise in management
studies with a focus on business analytics and general management.
Primary Duties at
Woxsen University
As
a professor at Woxsen University, my primary duties include delivering
high-quality lectures and seminars to undergraduate and postgraduate students,
advising and mentoring students on academic and career-related matters,
conducting research, and contributing to scholarly publications and
conferences. I also play a pivotal role in curriculum development, ensuring
that academic programs align with industry trends and standards.
Distinguished
Awards, Honours, and Publications
Several
awards, including the International Professor Award and the National Award,
have honored me throughout my career. Various societies and universities have
also bestowed upon me the Best Teacher Award. I have authored five books,
published 15 articles in Scopus-indexed journals, contributed chapters to
national and international journals, and presented research articles at
approximately 30 conferences.
