Hi, I’m Jasper Joshua, Co-Founder and CEO of Brilliant. I’m 23 years old and did my engineering from St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, Chennai. I’m from Madurai, Tamil Nadu. I wanted to be an entrepreneur since the age of 16. I started my first venture when I was 17 years old. It’s a Content Marketing and E-commerce Business called “Believe Motivations”. We had around 1000 customers and 10,000+ Community Members all across India. During my college days, I used to win many entrepreneurial competitions, that’s how I found out my true passion & skill for Entrepreneurship. I was the president of my College Entrepreneurial Club and was also a student entrepreneur, means I was earning from my Business at the same time I was studying.
Right now, I’m building an educational society through Brilliant. Brilliant is simply an application that helps students who are struggling to crack competitive exams and students who need help with academics. This app connects students with the best local private tuitions and coaching institutions where they can get the proper education to crack entrances and also it motivates them to take down all the challenges as students. Reason behind starting of business
The reason behind the Business is; Education is all about learning, not just the subjects but also learning all about Soft Skills such as hard work, concentration and facing challengers and failures. In today’s online trend of courses and E- learning, Students still find it really difficult to learn the concepts and also to concentrate or in gaining knowledge, We Believe in the Person Experience of the Tutor with respect to ther Subject, who can make learning effective by even reaching to concepts outside of the books. Moreover, students need motivation too while studying, not just explanation about the concepts.
During my high school days, I can still remember, I was struggling to score good grade in mathematics. Apart from other subjects, I personally felt really demotivated, scared and depressed about this particular subject mathematics. I needed help. That’s when I found Mr. Veera Ragavar, who became my Private Tutor for Mathematics. He not just helped me in learning the tricks and hacks but also encouraged me and spent extra hours in teaching me the basics. After that, I’m never afraid of mathematics as it became more interesting. Unfortunately, He passed away because of Brain Tumour. That’s when I realised that, a genuine bond between a tutor and a student is really a precious memory in every student’s life because they don’t just help us in scoring good grades or crack exams but also they inspire us to be a better person.
