Trichy Coworks is one of the first companies to introduce the concept of shared office space in Tier 2 cities in South India. The core idea which laid the foundation for the formation of Trichy Coworks is to integrate business networks and form a dynamic community of business owners, start-ups, and investors, individuals with a diverse professional background, educators, and students in Trichy.
Trichy Coworks was established in the year 2018 and has seen phenomenal growth since then, starting from 25 seats to 250+ seats.
Ignition for the start up culture
I personally felt the start-up culture was quite missing in Trichy and the reason being it was the lack of ecosystem for the start-ups. Further Startups found it very difficult to go for the conventional office space due to huge upfront costs and maintenance costs. But in Trichy Coworks they could take an office space starting from Rs 5,000 without any CAPEX.

Identifying an idea is very much related to solving a potential problem that society is facing. I saw many companies were not able to take office space because of the huge Capex and the ecosystem that was missing for a startup to nourish. So thought of solving the potential problem and so the idea of Trichy Coworks is born.

How difficult was it to convince others about your business idea?
Initially, it was way difficult for me to explain the concept of Coworks as by the time it was even new to cities like Chennai. The client’s perspective on coworkers was, “Coworks can cause a lot more distractions and less productiveness when compared to conventional space”. We proved them wrong by starting to give them free passes to experience the coworks environment. It took more time than anticipated but was worth it.

Having lots of young age entrepreneurs are a boon for India. As innovation is inevitable, entrepreneurship is essential. As the unemployment rate is escalating, entrepreneurship should only be the solution.
