Our solution is based on products from World leaders Makeblock & Zanatok present in over a hundred countries. We also have created the required teaching content. This content is available as power point PPT’s on a web portal, as well as teacher’s books & grade wise student books.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

I did BTech Telecom in 1972 & MSc in in1978. Learnt programming & did courses in Electronic Warfare & satellite communications in the army. I did CCNA &CCNI in 1993. I was awarded Honorary Doctorate in 23 for my technical contributions for the benefit of the society.

My Experience as a Teacher

I have headed the teaching faculty of Army Training Team at National Defense Academy Khadakvasla, & at College of Air Warfare Secundrabad. I have been a teacher in Wireless Technology in the corporate world to fill the demand of trained wireless technicians at the time of nationwide roll out of GSM services in India. I have been a visiting faculty with UC Berkley on wide area wireless networks for three years. I have been visiting schools & colleges to speak on future technologies and why & how children should adopt them at an early age. I am also a parent councilor on the same. I have also converted this knowledge into world class technology books for teachers and students.

My Core Roles and Responsibilities in BDS

In BDS I have three distinct roles. As chairman I also head its subsidiary BDS Education Research Foundation. Consisting of senior veterans & young graduates, his foundation develops teaching content for faculty and students to deliver standardized teaching pan India. This content has been converted to PPT’s, Videos and books. The second responsibility is to identify & procure the best of the best amongst products in the world & make them available to schools at extremely affordable prices. The third is to conceptualize game changing projects related to education for the benefit of the nation. I also run a technology incubator to mentor young entrepreneurs in product development.

Proud Moments - Reflecting on My Achievements

I can mention two. First was in 2003 – 05. During this period, I designed a Wireless WAN to implement the famous computer literacy Project named Akshaya of Government of Kerala. In this one member of every family in the state was made computer literate. In 2006, the project was awarded the Golden Nica Award (Oscar of IT). My association with UC Berkley started as its outcome.

The second was project Viper of Indian Army in 2007. In this I guided a team of young engineers in an incubator at JSS Engineering College Noida to develop a multi-sensor video cum audio streaming surveillance system for use along Indo-Pak border in J& K. We completed the work in six months that Bharat Electronics could not complete in two years.

We now plan to do a nationwide repeat of Project Akshaya with Sampoorn Coding Literacy as its aim. We plan to make one member of every rural family in India Coding Literate. This is the best way for social upliftment of the nation. Seems impossible, but not for BDS as our vision is “Ghar Ghar Coding, Har Ghar Coding”.

Balancing Professional and Personal Spheres

I keep karma as the key driver of my life. As a man& breadwinner my profession is karma. This guides my professional life & I am totally devoted to it. As a man, looking after my family is also my Karma. In this, I play the second fiddle with my wife leading the show. I ensure all the support for her and she reciprocates for my professional life.

Beyond Academics – My Extracurricular Journey in Education

Participate in everything that comes your way was a mantra taught at Air Force Central School. Since a small child I have participated in things as small as a fancy dress show to writing poems, to carpentry, tinkering, painting, playing games,& them migrating to heavier stuff like golf, mountaineering, sailing, photography, driving, &now para gliding at old age. From each one of these, I learnt, grew& remained young & healthy. Becoming a professional in any of these has never been my aim. That would have restricted my wholistic growth & capabilities.
