Rajveer Rawlin, Academician & Financial Markets Blogger

I am an academician, author, and financial blogger passionate about teaching students’ financial markets and investing.

Educational and Professional Background:

I am a chemical engineer from NIT Trichy, shifted my focus into financial markets and investing in the US, having worked in the investment banking and asset management space. I obtained an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University, Wales, UK, and entered the asset management space in India after that. I moved into academics subsequently and obtained a PhD from Bharathiar University in 2019 and have been teaching MBA students capital markets and investing.

Expertise and Research Interests:

Having been an avid financial markets watcher since 1993, I write about financial markets, trading, and investing. I also strive to help students across the globe understand financial markets and investing through my blogs and YouTube channel. My current research areas are in capital markets and banking.

Projects and Publications:

My key focus areas of research are in banking and capital markets. Specifically, I am very interested in the interrelationships between various asset classes. I am also interested in the predictive modelling of key asset classes such as stocks, stock indices, bonds, commodities, currencies, etc.

I have authored over 20 journal articles and 5 books in the above areas. 3 of those recent publications have been indexed in Scopus.

Honors and Awards:

I have received the Accredited Management Teacher certification from the All India Management Association (AIMA). I have also won best paper presenter awards at 3 international conferences.

Journey as a Blogger:

Having tracked financial markets in the US and India since 1993, I began my journey as a financial blogger in 2011. Since then, I have blogged regularly on the Indian and US stock markets. My blog, Ahead of the Curve, has a significant global reach.

Recently, I started a blog for Finance Students. Having played Scrabble at the national and international level, I have been occasionally blogging about the game since 2014.

Skilled at Teaching Portfolio Management:

I believe in bringing live markets into the classroom so that my students can have a simulated experience of capital markets. My experience in the industry and writing and talking about financial markets has helped me provide students with a holistic view of financial markets and investing.
