Drawing from more than two decades of experience in education and human resources, I, Prof. Raginie Singh bring extensive expertise in reshaping organizational practices and fostering talent development. My career has been all about transformative leadership and innovation. With a background spanning both the corporate and education sectors, I excel at providing strategic guidance and aligning organizational structures and HR frameworks with institutional culture to drive effective change. My collaborative approach with senior management has consistently helped organizations achieve their missions. From thought leadership and stakeholder management to talent acquisition and HR policy development, my journey in HR has been diverse and fulfilling. I've also been deeply involved in institution building, working to enhance efficiency and transparency through pioneering efforts to create accountable academic administrative ecosystems.
Could you tell us about your educational and professional journey?
My journey in HR began with a strong educational foundation. I completed my B.Com. (H) from Delhi University, followed by a PGDBM from the Institute of Management Studies.
Later, I pursued an MBFS in Finance from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, and a PGCHRM from XLRI Jamshedpur.
Professionally, I've held various roles, each adding a new dimension to my expertise. I am currently head of HR at GUS Global Services India. Before this, I spent close to 14 years at Amity University, focusing on global talent development. My career also includes significant roles at the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, ManpowerGroup, and Singhi Advisors. Each position has taught me invaluable lessons and helped shape my approach to HR.
What sparked your interest in pursuing a career in human resources?
My passion for working with people and helping them reach their full potential sparked my interest in HR.
The field's dynamic and evolving nature keeps me motivated and always learning, which I truly value in my career.
Who do you consider your role model or mentor in your professional life?
I can't attribute my growth to just one person. Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to have had several role models and mentors. Each has offered unique insights and perspectives, from demonstrating exceptional empathy and strategic vision to showcasing resilience and innovation. This collective wisdom has been instrumental in shaping my approach to HR and guiding my professional journey.
What are your key responsibilities as the Head of Human Resources at GUS Global Services India Pvt. Ltd.?
As the Head of HR at GUS Global Services India, my key responsibilities revolve around people, productivity, and culture. I oversee talent acquisition and retention, ensuring we have a diverse and skilled workforce. I focus on enhancing productivity through effective training, development programs, performance management systems, and employee engagement initiatives. Additionally, I work to cultivate a positive and inclusive workplace culture that supports collaboration, innovation, and employee well-being.
Could you share some of the most significant achievements in your life?
Every achievement has its own unique significance, but as an HR head, I'm proud of several initiatives. Leading successful employee engagement and retention programs, implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives, and navigating organizational change while maintaining high morale and clear communication are some of the highlights.
