My name is Pratik Dixit, and I’m a full-stack software engineer as well as the founder of Cannas Technologies Private Limited, which I established in 2019. I operate as a solo entrepreneur—handling everything from development and design to project management and client communication entirely on my own.

Could you walk us through your company “Cannas Technologies Private Limited” and the types of full-stack development services you offer across web and mobile platforms?
 
Certainly! Cannas Technologies Private Limited is a solo-founded software development company that I started in 2019 with the aim of delivering end-to-end digital solutions tailored for modern businesses. As the sole developer and operator, I manage every aspect of the company - Development, Design, Deployment, and Support.
 
Under Cannas Technologies, I offer comprehensive full-stack development services across both web and mobile platforms. These include:

• Web Development: Custom web applications built with modern frameworks like React, Vue for the front end, and Node.js, Express, or PHP for the back end. I focus on scalable architectures, performance optimisation, and clean UI/UX.

• Mobile App Development: I develop cross-platform mobile apps using technologies like React Native, ensuring native-like performance and smooth user experiences on both iOS and Android.

• Backend/API Development: I design robust and secure RESTful APIs, integrate third-party services, and manage databases (SQL & NoSQL) with scalability in mind.

• UI/UX Design: Although I’m a programmer by core, I place a strong emphasis on design and user experience. I use tools like Figma to craft intuitive interfaces.

• DevOps & Deployment: I handle end-to-end deployment, VPS, Cloud Hosting (AWS), Version Control with Git.

A prime example of my work is Velox Gold, a fully developed platform that showcases my capabilities in real-world use. It’s not only the flagship project of my company but also serves as my personal portfolio. I built Velox Gold from the ground up—handling everything from conceptualisation and design to backend logic and live deployment. It reflects the quality, performance, and attention to detail I aim to bring to every project.
 

What inspired you to start your tech venture, and how has your approach to leadership and project ownership as a solo founder impacted the company's growth and sustainability?
 
The inspiration to start Cannas Technologies Private Limited came from a strong desire for creative and technical independence. After gaining hands-on experience in full-stack development, I realised I wanted to build products my way—focusing on quality, performance, and meaningful user experiences rather than being limited by rigid corporate structures or short-term goals.
 
Starting Cannas Technologies in 2019 was my way of turning that vision into reality. I wanted to create a space where I could take complete ownership - from brainstorming and design to development and delivery. Being a solo founder means I wear many hats, and while it can be challenging, it has also been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey.
 
My approach to leadership is rooted in discipline, self-motivation, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Since I don’t have a team to delegate to, I’ve developed strong systems and habits to stay productive and accountable. Every success or failure directly reflects on me, which pushes me to maintain high standards in everything I do.
 
This hands-on ownership model has made the company extremely lean and resilient. I’ve kept overheads low, workflows efficient, and client expectations clear. Most importantly, it has allowed me to focus on long-term sustainability rather than short-term gains - delivering quality over quantity. Projects like Velox Gold have benefited greatly from this focused, end-to-end approach. It’s not just about building software - it's about building something that lasts.
 
 
Could you share key highlights and milestones from your professional journey that reflect your evolution as a full-stack developer and entrepreneur?
 
Certainly! My professional journey as a full-stack developer and entrepreneur spans over a decade and reflects steady growth and learning:
 
From 2010 to 2012, I started as a freelancer focusing on HTML and CSS development, which laid the foundation for my front-end skills.
 
Between 2012 and 2019, I worked as a Senior PHP Programmer & Business Partner at Web Developers Pune, where I gained deep backend expertise and experience working on complex projects.
 
In 2019–2020, I transitioned into entrepreneurship as the Solo Business Owner of Web Developers Mumbai, taking on end-to-end project management and client handling.
 
Since 2020, I have been the Founder and CEO of Cannas Technologies Private Limited, where I operate as a solo full-stack developer building and managing products like Velox Gold.
 
This journey has helped me evolve from a specialised developer into a versatile full-stack software engineer and business owner, capable of managing every aspect of software development and company operations independently.


Could you talk about some standout projects you've delivered—particularly ones that demonstrate your end-to-end development capabilities?
 
One of the most standout projects I’ve delivered is Velox Gold, which also serves as the flagship product of Cannas Technologies Private Limited. This project perfectly demonstrates my end-to-end development capabilities, as I handled everything - from initial concept and UI/UX design to full-stack development, backend API creation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
 
Velox Gold is a comprehensive platform built with modern web and mobile technologies, designed to offer robust performance and a seamless user experience across devices. I developed the frontend using React and React Native for cross-platform mobile support, while the backend is powered by Node.js & PHP and a scalable database architecture.
 
Aside from Velox Gold, I’ve successfully completed various client projects during my time as a freelance developer and business owner, where I was responsible for the entire software lifecycle - from gathering requirements and designing architecture to delivering a polished final product. These projects have reinforced my ability to deliver quality software independently, managing every detail to ensure optimal functionality and user satisfaction.


Could you tell us about your core technical skills, and how have they enabled you to independently build and scale complete digital solutions?
 
My core technical skills include React Native, React.js, Node.js, PHP, MySQL, and frontend technologies like Bootstrap, HTML and CSS. These technologies form a powerful and flexible stack that enables me to independently design, develop, and scale complete digital solutions across web and mobile platforms.
 
Using React JS and Bootstrap, I build responsive and user-friendly web interfaces, while React Native allows me to create performant cross-platform mobile apps with native-like experiences. On the backend, Node.js and PHP give me the flexibility to develop robust APIs and business logic, with MySQL powering reliable and scalable data storage.
 
This combination lets me manage the entire software lifecycle - from frontend UI and backend architecture to database management and deployment - without needing to rely on external teams. It’s a stack that not only supports rapid development but also ensures maintainability and scalability as projects grow.
 
 
How do you stay current with new trends and technologies, and what advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to build and grow their own ventures?
 
Staying current with new trends and technologies is essential in the fast-evolving tech landscape. I dedicate time regularly to reading industry blogs, following key developers and tech influencers on platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter, and participating in online communities such as Stack Overflow and GitHub. I also experiment with emerging tools to understand how they can enhance my development process.
 
For aspiring entrepreneurs, my advice is to focus on building a strong foundation - not just in technology, but also in problem-solving, customer understanding, and disciplined execution. Embrace the challenges of wearing multiple hats, especially if you’re starting solo, and cultivate resilience. Don’t be afraid to start small, iterate quickly, and learn from every experience.
